The Annam.AI Hackathon is a one-of-a-kind initiative to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence in revolutionizing India’s food and agriculture systems. Hosted by the Centre of Excellence in AI for Agriculture at IIT Ropar and supported by the Ministry of Education, this 8-week hackathon combines real-world data, expert mentorship, and a research-driven approach to solve India’s biggest agri-tech challenges.

Winning innovations may be deployed as Phase II solutions under the Centre of Excellence at IIT Ropar.
The hackathon is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD students, and working professionals from across India. Participants can join either online or through in-person cohorts at IIT Ropar.
The program runs for 8 full weeks starting from 15th May 2025 to 20th July 2025. It is a full-time, immersive, project-based internship, supported by mentorship from ANNAM.AI advisors.
Participants will tackle real-world challenges in soil health, irrigation, pest management, crop monitoring, and post-harvest systems, using AI to build innovative and practical solutions for sustainable agriculture.
Each team must submit a working prototype or AI model, accompanied by detailed documentation, a demo video, and a code repository.
Yes. All successful participants will receive a certificate. Additionally, the program is being structured to offer 10 academic credits, which may be transferred to your academic record via the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), subject to approval from your institution.
